Chelsea and Arsenal are locked in a tug of war to sign 14-year-old wonderkid Gerard Deulofeu. The Spanish youngster is yet to sign professional papers at Barcelona, and would be available for a nominal fee should he decide to leave.
Barcelona’s strict hierarchy means youth players have to work their way thorough 5 tiers of reserve football before reaching the first team. This encourages many young stars to look elsewhere for the opportunity of first team football – a la Cesc Fabrega.
Deulofeu has romped though the youth ranks at Barcelona and his dribbling ability has led to him likened to Ronaldinho. Although, in appearance, you'd be forgiven for thinking he is the offspring of Carlos Puyol.
